It's The Journey Inc.,

FAQs
It's The Journey, Inc. ("ITJ") is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 by two-time breast cancer survivor, Randi Passoff. After becoming an active participant in Atlanta-area breast cancer organizations and events, Randi saw a need for an organization that would raise funds and awareness for the various Atlanta breast cancer organizations helping many women in the community. She understood that many organizations helping individuals and families dealing with breast cancer were either too small or unable to reach the entire Atlanta community with their message.

As a result of Randi's vision, It's The Journey, Inc. was created to strengthen Atlanta's breast cancer community through fundraising and awareness efforts. To date, the organization has raised $5.5 million and presented 107 grants to Atlanta-area breast cancer organizations. The Atlanta community has always been committed to taking a strong stand against breast cancer.

Mission of ITJ
It's The Journey's mission is to strengthen Atlanta's breast cancer community by raising money and awareness for local Atlanta organizations that focus on breast cancer education, research, early detection, awareness and support services, as well as the unmet needs in the breast cancer community.

Go Green...

Since we first opened our doors here at Manorism ten years ago, we've designed and sold thousands of pieces of furniture made from old wood and recycled building materials...
Personally, I'm very happy to now see the mainstream furniture industry adopting similar good practices.... It's just the right thing to do...

Pictured below are some of my favorite 'green' pieces at the moment...
Check 'em out...

Maple Slab Coffee Table
black steel base and 3 inch think Maple Slab top... this is one piece of wood...The slab is approx 55" at it's widest point... We added some wonderful artistic details to this, the bowties and other little details.. look closely... It's a one of a kind... This slab was cut from a MASSIVE naturally fallen tree in the North Georgia Mountains.

Red Oak/Stainless Steel Coffee Table
Three large Red Oak boards, joined to make this gorgeous Coffee TableWe used a Stainless Steel Base for this one, the Stainless Steel all made from recycled materials
This top is 2 inches think and the table top approx 34 inches at its widest point... notice the 'live edge' on either side of the coffee table? I like this one a lot.. this might go home with me if it doesn't sell quickly :) oh, and again, this wood is from naturally fallen trees in the North Georgia Mountains.

Recycled Elm Wood Dining Table

We have started a collection made from 80-90 year old Chinese Elm Wood.. Salvaged from old Doors... here is a photo of the Dining Table... We also have side tables, coffee tables and other pieces coming soon... I really like the bleached look we have with this, along with the fantastic grain and texture.. this is a neat piece...

Antiquities

Here are details on some wonderful antiquities we've collected from around the world...

First Off, pictured to the left... this incredibly detailed, wonderfully hand carved Garuda...

Indonesia, late 19th-early 20th Century, Garuda with rider, polychrome wood, Ht.18". carved from a single block of wood.
From the collection of Armand Labbe, former curator at the Bower's Museum

Next Up... this wonderful Reclining Buddha (pictured below)

Thailand/Burma "The Reclining Buddha", late 19th - early 20th Century. A carved hard-wood with gold-gilding, inlaid glass accents. There are a few such Buddhas in SE Asia that are quite famous and, of course, of great age. L: 39", estimated width 6".
From the collection of Armand Labbe, former curator at the Bower's Museum

We'll show off more of our treasures in the future...

Enjoy...
